Despite our main airplane still stuck in EYW, I managed to bill out 7.1 hours today, and fly for 3.5 hours in the Cessna 150. I walked out feeling good about the money I made today and the hours logged. Tomorrow shouldn’t be quite as lucrative as today, but I should still be able to pull in decent money and log some more time.

I believe the plan is to fetch the SP on Monday. I am not sure if I will be involved in that mission or not. As long as I fly, I don’t care. I will either fly to EYW or fly with the students who are on the schedule. Students = money, EYW = more fun. Its a draw. We’ll see how the cookie crumbles.

Living the flight instructor lifestyle is sort of entrepreneurial by nature. In my old job, I was paid $x.xx per day regardless of what I did. However, it is much more satisfying to know that to a large degree I am in control of what I make. And, the more I fly, the more money I get. I love putting in hours because I love to fly, plus every hour I log puts me closer to my ultimate career goal. It really drives me to call and book the students and fill up my days and to squeeze in that last evening flight. The more the merrier as far as I am concerned.
