Even though I have a multiengine rating, I haven’t really FLOWN a multiengine airplane before. I did some charter flights in the right seat a while back and received some instruction along the way. More recently, I attended one of those 4 day multiengine courses where I followed their syllabus and did everything exactly as prescribed. Then, I took the checkride and passed and haven’t flown a multi since.

Today, I am going to begin a 14 hour time building session which will end in receiving an MEI rating. I am going to fly on my own for the first 11 or 12 hours to just build PIC time, and I’ll be working with an MEI (a personal friend, as opposed to a company instructor) during that time to refresh up on all the multiengine theory. I am excited to actually get to go fly a twin in a non-stuctured environment for a little while to just REALLY get the hang of it.

I’ll post how it goes a bit later. For now, I’ve got to get ready to leave. I’ll be enroute to the airport in 30 minutes and I’ve still got “bedhead”.
