The flight school I worked for during the last 45 days went out of business as written about previously. However, I spoke with the FBO manager (where the old school was operating) at length yesterday about instructing in a new venture that the FBO is looking into creating. It is all very much in the infant stages right now, but my name is on a very short list of instructors who will be called upon if the plan comes to fruition. Hopefully, I’ll have a new avenue into the sky before too long.

Also, I signed off a student yesterday (the owner of the old flight school, actually) to take an instrument checkride recheck. He had busted with the previous instructor….NOT ME! We flew for a few hours, working on steep turns, GPS and VOR approaches. After working with him and then his proving to me that he could pass, I signed him off and just found out that he passed the recheck this morning and got his instrument rating. Even though I didn’t serve as his primary instructor, it is still satisfying to see someone succeed at my hand. Its one of the greatest feelings there is in aviation, IMHO.

Switching gears drastically, I am off to take accounting test #2 now. Wish me luck!
