In the cockpit of the E-145.

A student and I after a great flight!
One of my students and myself after a great flight!

Dreaming of earning your private pilot license? Or an advanced rating? Need a BFR or an IPC? Or just coming back after some time off and want a refresher?

I have been flying in the Central Florida area for over 11 years and have flown over 30 types of airplanes. I hold CFI, CFII, and MEI ratings and have been instructing for several years out of the Winter Haven airport (KGIF).

I am currently partnered with Tailwheels, Etc, a first class organization offering the finest in flight training coupled with that “laid back” attitude you can only find from a family run business.

After nearly two years as a professional airline pilot assigned to the Embraer 145 regional jet, I was recently furloughed at the end of 2008. In addition to my flying pursuits, I am also a nearly licensed CPA (3 more months!!!) and plan on engaging upon a career as such for the foreseeable future.

My ideal client is a like minded business person who is looking to concentrate their flying efforts during a combination of evenings and weekends.

—->>>Flight School Rates<<<----

Flying is an expensive proposition. A ball park figure for a candidate looking to earn their private pilot’s license is roughly $8,000. This figure will change based on individual considerations (schedule, time spent self studying, etc).

It is my policy and that of Tailwheels, etc, that you will pay as you go. There is no requirement to purchase time upfront. Accordingly, you can plan on doing your flight and paying for only that lesson received after it is received.

Ideally, a candidate should be able to commit to a specific schedule going into the training. However, life does get in the way. Money gets tight at times and flying must take the back burner for a little while.

My policy is that flying is NOT AS IMPORTANT as feeding your family, keeping the lights on, or making that next mortgage payment. Flying is supposed to be fun and we will make it fun together. But, it will not be fun if you are worrying about the money being spent. As such, any decisions made to take a few lessons off is YOUR personal decision.

I climbed my way through my ratings one at a time and finally achieved the goal. Its like the old story of the tortoise and the hare…you might be led into believing that faster is better. It might be in your particular case. Tailwheels, Etc can provide that type of curriculum if you are interested. I’d be more than happy to recommend one of the other fantastic instructors to do this with you. However, I, personally specialize in the “constant steady pace” approach.

I provide my e-mail address (which I check multiple time per day) and my personal telephone number, not merely that of the flight school, to my students. I want to be more than just a flight instructor. I want to be your mentor throughout the entire journey. I tell all of my students to never hesitate in calling me on my personal number with questions or concerns about what we are doing at any given point in the curriculum. I want to be as available as I possibly can to you.

Teaching a student about the basics!

My love of flying drives me to want to share it with others. I am not a career CFI. I make my living as a bean counter. My goal is not to milk your money, fill up my logbook with flight time on your nickel or any other such motives. I just want to fly and help others along the way.

If you believe that I could be a good fit for you, please contact me. I’ll schedule your first flight lesson and we’ll head up into the sunny skies of Florida and start upon your journey.

The choice is yours!
