To Whom It May Concern:

I am a professional pilot seeking employment with your company. As you will see from the attached resume, I recently resigned in good standing from Trans States Airlines as a first officer assigned to the Embraer 145 Regional Jet to pursue graduate level studies in accounting. As a professional pilot, I have gained great experience operating a system intensive modern airliner to and from the nation’s busiest airports. As a code share partner for United Airlines, the carrier operates a hub and spoke system originating from Chicago O’Hare, Washington Dulles, and Denver International airports. As a pilot flying scheduled service operations, I have considerable experience working under the combined pressures of time constraints, ATC delays, and adverse weather.

As a flight instructor, I have accumulated over 300 hours of dual instruction given and have instructed towards private, instrument, and commercial ratings. I find great satisfaction in teaching aviation to students and watching them succeed. It is my goal to maintain my instructor currency and to continue to teach in some capacity no matter where my career ultimately leads me.

In addition to my aviation pursuits, I have a passion for business, or more specifically, accounting. Having earned my B.S. in Accounting from the University of South Florida, I spent my first two years out of college working with tax preparation and attestation services on behalf of a large regional accounting firm in Lakeland, FL. I am actively working towards my certification as a CPA and plan on applying for license to practice in early 2010. Independent of my aviation career, I plan on continuing towards this end.

I have had a passion for aviation since I was a young child and have considered myself a success in having pursued it professionally during the recent years. My hope is to continue as a professional pilot, but to find a position where I can offer in tandem my considerable business and accounting knowledge towards the operation of a corporate flight department.

I believe that my passion, education, and experience in aviation, as well as business, separate me from the crowd. It would be very satisfying to embark upon a fruitful relationship with your company. I hope to be given a chance to do that.

I look forward to meeting with you.

Sincerely,

Bryan Risley
